- The aggregate marks are to be calculated on the basis of best of four subjects excluding environmental studies.
- A candidate must have to secure pass marks in the subjects/ allied subjects which he/she has applied for.

Generic Rules for Admission in all Streams
- Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary or equivalent examinations (ISC/CBSE) in 2009 and onwards are eligible to seek admission to the 1st year B.A/B.Sc/B.Com courses.
- Admission will be strictly on the basis of merit.
- Application forms for admission to the 1st year B.A/B.Sc/B.Com courses will be available online from June 05, 2012 (12 Noon onwards) to June 14, 2012 (till 2 PM).
- In addition to the provision of online application, forms will also be issued from the college counter from June 05, 2012 to June 12, 2012 (Between 11 AM to 2 PM: Saturday - 11 AM to 1 PM). Last date for submission for filled in application form is June 12, 2012.
- The online applicants are required to deposit application fees ( Rs. 100/- only in cash) at any of the following branches of Axis Bank on presentation of the challan which can be downloaded after submitting the form online.

- The filled-in application forms, issued from the college counter are to be submitted to the collection centre of Axis bank within the college premises along with necessary documents and an application fee of Rs. 100/-only in cash.
- The merit list of all the departments will be published within June 25, 2012 on the college notice-board and in the college website ( www.sammilanimahavidyalaya.org
- The admission criteria for SC and ST candidates will be strictly maintained as per the guideline of the University of Calcutta. The students have to score at least 40% marks in aggregate( best of four) or 40% marks in related subjects.
- The college follows the rules regarding reservation of seats for S.C and S.T candidates as per the order and notifications issued by the Govt. of West Bengal and Calcutta University, i.e. 22% for SC students and 6% for ST students and about 3% for PH.
- The candidates are required to fill up the application forms carefully. The college authority will not be responsible for any mistake or anomaly in this regard.
- Candidates who have passed from other boards (including distance education) will be considered later on according to the availability of seats.
- Admission to any course of the college is provisional and subject to approval of the University of Calcutta.
Documents to be submitted at the time of Admission:
a) Duly filled in Admission Form.
b) Two recent passport size Photographs.
c) Proof of Date of Birth [attested copy of Admit Card of Madhyamik or eqivalent Examination]. Original Crtificates are to be produced at the time of admission.
d) Attested Copies of Marksheet of Madhyamik or eqivalent Examination.
e) Attested Copy of Marksheet of Higher Secondary or eqivalent Examination.
f) Attested Copy of SC/ST Certificate is to be produced at the time of admission.
g) Migration Certificate (in original) for a migrating student.
h) Students getting transferred from other colleges are to produce original Transfer Certificates.
Attendance :
Without prior information if any students remains absent for 30 consecutive days then her admission will be treated as CANCELLED. Minimum percentage of attendance required by a student in the Degree Course
is 75% of the lectures delivered including tutorials and practical classes in accordance with the regulations of the Calcutta University.
A Student attending less than 75% but more than 60% of the lectures delivered will be declared as a NON-COLLEGIATE as per Calcutta University regulations.
A Student attending less than 60% of the lectures delivered in any subject will be declared DISCOLLEGIATE and will not be allowed to sit for final examination conducted by the Calcutta University.
